General Information

What is fitness really all about? Fitness means the condition of being physically and mentally fit with good health. It is the ability to carry out daily tasks with vigour and alertness, without undue fatigue, and with ample energy to enjoy life. You see the muscle bound people advocating the gym five times a week and most non active people will scoff and say clearly you don’t have anything better going off in your life.

Likewise there is the couch potato who never ever exercises and the upshot is generally they will get fat and die earlier than they planned.

There are different types of fitness; most people tend to focus on one type of exercise or activity and think they’re doing enough. Research has shown that it’s important to get all four types of exercise: endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility. Each one has different benefits.

It really is simple; when you look back on your week and reflect think of any time you got your heart racing for say 10 to 15 minutes. If it’s every day – good. Once is rubbish and you need to think about fitting in more exercise, even if its walking around the block the long way to the cream cake shop or using the stairs at work.

Exercise isn’t just about keeping fit and controlling weight. Exercise does things to the chemicals in your body that is very very good for you.
